You skip the platform service fee
When you book through a major travel platform, the site adds a guest service fee on top of the nightly rate. On Airbnb this is commonly around 14 percent of the booking subtotal. That money does not come to us. It goes to the platform for processing the transaction.
Book direct and that fee simply is not part of the equation. On a three night stay, that difference is real money, and it stays in your pocket.
